Focus on one product or service at first, you need to concentrate on your efforts on your core product because you are just starting out and you need to build a product which you will later be associated with. It may be tempting to introduce several products all at once but unless all these products came from the same product line, you risk being seen as a business with no direction.


2. Expand your product line this is somewhat similar to the previous tip but it would be better for you to introduce related products and services after your core product is proven to be successful. Having a wider product line will give customers more choices and it will appeal to other retailers who want to carry a whole product line on their stores.

3. Increase the amount of sales of your current customers finding ways to increase the amount of sales you generate from already existing customers is definitely a lot cheaper and easier compared to finding new customers. This is because they are already familiar with your product and they are already satisfied with it.

4. Hire someone who can help you having someone who can help out when there is a large amount of work to be done would be very helpful for the business. You can hire a freelancer, an independent contractor, or even your child if you cannot afford to pay a full-time employee at this point.

5. Create a website most home based businesses have a website that enables them to expand their horizons and reach a greater number of people. If you are starting a home based business, you should take advantage of the internet as well.
